  13. I have a 28.8 multtech modem, and when connecting to anyting =even another 
  14. modem of the same model= it is REALLY jumpy. is there naything I can do
  15. to fix this?  Tonight, while chatting with someone it took
  16. me 20 seconds to ee two lines of text that  wrote..
  17. (it was connecting to a PPI tower at the time)

  19. Oh, my modems:
  20. the modem is one of the "BA" externals, off of a cyclades 8 port serial
  21. card... firmware 2.06 (i _think_, id have to drop carrier to check)
  22. anything I can do to fix this.  upgrade firmware?
